Here are links that I've found to be very helpful for educators in and around the classroom.
If you would like to suggest a link, please send me an email and I'll post it to the site!

PB Wiki
A Wiki is an online collaborative tool that allows users to create, edit, and respond to a topic or assignment. Wikis require a certain amount of "freedom," but the end product can be pretty amazing. Check out this educational Wiki from Fort Atkinson High School in Wisconsin:

Google Docs
Google Docs is an excellent place to host, share, and collaborate. Using this Web 2.0 application, I've been able to host presentations that I use in conferences, and then share it with participants or invite them to make changes. |

Google Maps
Google Maps can do so much more than give you driving directions! Without having to download any software, you can take your students on a virtual tour of the world...maybe even in the world your reading about in a novel. Suggestions for using Google Maps for virtual tours include: documenting a summer vacation of travel, tracking key battles of the Civil War, and creating a "Lit Trip" for a novel (like towns from Avi's "The Fighting Ground"). |

Google Books
Browse through books and magazines online. Some titles contain excerpts, while public domain titles may appear in their entirety. |

Student Projects
Berkeley County School District offered a two-week program for gifted and talented students during summer 2009. The Junior Scholar Institute was held at one of the district's middle schools and offered a variety of courses for extended learning. As an instructor for the "Digital Movie Magic" class, I had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented middle and high school students. Armed only with Flip video cameras and Windows Movie Maker, students created some amazing digital films. |
