PTA Important Message
The HES PTA has positions on the board that will be available next year, and we need your help. It's a great way to get involved, and be a part of the decision making process within the school.
The board is organized in such a way that anyone can participate, whether you work full-time, part-time, or stay at home. Please consider volunteering for one of these positions that are described below. Most of these are seasonal, so don't require involvement all year. Feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions about these positions.

Auction Coordinator:
Organizes the annual PTA auction in the Spring; Solicits local and out-of-state businesses to donate items for the auction; Oversees a committee that also solicits to local businesses; Responsible for distributing promotional material to teachers/parents about the auction.
If interested in this position, please let us know as soon as possible so that you can shadow Karen Murray in planning for this year's Auction on April 27.
First Vice President:
Acts as an aide to the president; performs the duties of the president in his/her absence; Organizes the Back to School luncheon for teachers and staff at the beginning of the school year; Organizes and executes Red Ribbon Week in October; Organizes Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in May; Is a member of the executive committee; Obtains a minister to do invocation at the PTA General meetings.
Membership Chairperson:
Promotes membership enrollment; Fills out and distributes membership cards; keeps account of number of PTA memberships per class. This position is usually shared by 2 people. The volume of work is done within the first 3 months of school.
Hospitality:
Assists with getting concessions donations for Auction and Carnival.
