BMS Teacher of the Year: Wendy Garrett
BMS faculty selected Wendy Garrett as the 2012 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Garrett teaches 6th grade Social Studies and believes that her job is to inspire learning that will prepare students for the life ahead of them. In addition, she believes that her responsibility as an educator to add value to the learning experience and nurture their intellectual curiosity so that they become lifelong learners. Mrs. Garrett will vie for District Teacher of the Year with instructors across the District and will represent BMS on the Berkeley County Teacher Forum.
BP Helps BMS Promote STEM Learning
BP Chemical, Cooper River Plant, recently approved a grant to BMS for $5,000 to enhance STEM instruction (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Funds will allow BMS to develop a portable classroom concept with IPads, as well as, explore other innovative cross-curricular programs to improve student learning in the area of mathematics.
